A Stroll Through BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Chino Hill's Hidden Architectural Gem
The first time I drove by this place, was by accident. The particular architecture caught my eye driving off the freeway.
To think that I almost caused an accident because of the way I was driving. I was so mesmerized and didn't even realize I was driving 10MPH on a major California expressway! I didn't care, I was obsessed and needed to find out more. If you are in L.A or planning to visit, you MUST add this to your sight seeing list for an exotic getaway.
Check out the Photo Gallery below.
As you walk through the elaborate garden, there seems to be construction happening. A few signs warn us where we can and cannot enter. Also advising that shoes are strictly prohibited inside the temple as it is actively a place of worship.
The particular design of the deities holds an enchanting appeal. As you admire each detail you notice how everything is crafted to faultless perfection. Soft indian music caters to our ears in the background. The water, exotic architecture and nature makes for an interesting combination which exudes peace and, the feeling of being in different country.
On the opposite side, lies the office, a bookstore, the Shayona which is a yummy cafe with Indian treats and snacks. A few places for seating, prayer, meditation and rooms where programs for the youth are held.
I hereby officially certify this place as an underrated hidden gem in Los Angeles. For more information heres a link to their website: http://www.baps.org/
